Holiday

How are you all doing??  I'm ok!!  Well that was until I found a spider.  He's nestled himself in one of my folders and I don't know how to get rid of him.  Trust me though he will be gone by the end of the week That's a promise not a threat!!  Grrrrrrrrr........Ok now I've got that off my chest I shall continue my tale of my holiday...............

Part three - from Sunday 14th August!!

Cat and I, both had a lie in!!  The wedding had been quite exhausting although we'd not really done anything!!  We finally arose and watched some TV.  There was no food in the fridge for us to have any brekkie coz I was going away for the week!!  We agreed to meet up with Sarah in the Malthouse, so we were gonna have something to eat there :-)  About 1.30pm we met Sarah, Rosie, Becky and Becky's blokie Dave.  The girls down on a hen night and they were gonna come and see Trina at the reception but due to traffic they had not made it!!  Cat took her camera to the pub and showed them the pics there!!  Only Cat and I ate, as the others had picked on cold pizza and scones with cream and jam!!  Apparently they had been up till about 3am talking about Queen LOL......they started quoting new download stuff that they had heard......*rolls eyes* LOL.......Sarah and her downloads!!  Anyhoo, we left the pub not long after 2ish I think, all agreeing we must go on a trek to see Roger's Cornish house.  At the reception the day before Cat and I had been told how Keith, one of Wayne's workmates, had been in a pub near Roger's Cornwall home, when the man himself had come in and invited everyone to a party he was holding  (that was me and Cat's faces LOL), I asked him if anyone famous had been there, he said there was a few people and a couple of other Queen members there   So we've decided we'll all go down there and stay in the pub .  Well you never know do you LOL......

The taxi turned up to take Cat and I to the station.  Really posh it was with electric door opening.  I embarrased myself trying to shut the door LOL......My train wasn't due till about quarter to five, so Cat had to leave me!!  I was getting nervous by this point!!  A whole week on my own.......I know I like my own company but it is nice to know people are there if you need them!!  Still Cat promised to text!!  The train was quite busy, which I hadn't been expecting considering it was a Sunday and I had my suitcase to deal with.  There were no seats on the side were you can see the sea, so I decided to stand up.  Eventually I found a seat :-)  I love that part of the line, if you get a chance go on it!!

Got to Torquay and found a taxi no probs!  First thing I hear when in the taxi was a radio call telling everyone that some taxi firm in the area had all it's radios nicked.  Didn't need to hear that!!  Anyway got to Trina's around 5.30pm.  Both Soloman and Dibley were crowding round me and I couldn't work out why!!  Took my suitcase upstairs to my room, and decided to read the instructions.  I found out that they hadn't been fed since the day before!!  I had been convinced someone had done it that day, so now I started to feel guilty!!  With the cat feeding instructions I gave them food immediately LOL.....Then I sat down and started thinking!!  My first task was a cup of tea.  I didn't need to cook coz I'd eaten already!!  Unfortunately Trina's milk was out of date so this meant a trip to the garage.  I went for a walk knowing there was a garage, and hoping I would come across it.  I did (yay) and they sold pencils mmmmmm.........The evening saw me watching my Max and Paddy DVD that I had won off ebay.  It worked on Trina's DVD player and that made me VERY HAPPY LOL........Sometime during the evening Trina rung from the airport bless her :-)

Monday - I got up late and couldn't really be bothered to do anything so I sat around watching DVD's.  Couldn't tell you what I watched coz I honestly couldn't remember!!  I do remember Trina ringing from Nariobi to say they were there and that it was the last time I was gonna hear from her for a while!!  :-(  Still Dibs was keeping me company, Solly is really his own cat and keeps to himself, except when he wanted to come into my room!! LOL.......

Tuesday - Decided to venture down town and get the camera's from the tables at the reception processed.  I still had to arrange for Trina's wedding present.  She hadn't left me any notes about getting them processed like I thought she would so I thought I would just get them done.  Went to Boots for the hour processing thingy, whilst waiting went to do some shopping.  I brought a bottle of drink, and that was about it!!  I did also look for the internet cafe and it looked minging and there was no prices up so I decided not to bother.  It was so flippin' hot!!  The weather was lovely.......When the hour was up, I collected the photos and took a walk down to the harbour.  I sat on the wall and looked at the pics, there were some great ones to be able to make up the idea I had.  As the weather was so lovely I didn't wanna go back and sit and do nothing again so I went for a walk along the pier.  Unfortunately I didn't take my camera which was a bit silly as it would've been some lovely pics :-(  Never mind!!  Eventually I made my way home and got some chips for tea!!  This was gonna be a bad week for my weight.  Crisps, chocolate and chips - no exercise = oh dear!!  LOL.......

Wednesday - Another beautiful day!!  So what did I do??  Nothing!!  Although I did watch Seabiscuit which I had borrowed off mum :-)  Not a bad film!!  I was beginning to think I wasn't making the most of this week off!!

Thursday - Decided what to do with this day the week before when Pauline had told me why she was taking the day off.  It was carnival day in Dawlish so they were having a bit of a thing on during the day.  Left Trina's around 11ish, worried that I might miss it.  Had to stand up on the bus till we got to Teignmouth when we had to change buses anyway!!  Got on the bus at Teignmouth and this bloke sat next to me.  He had been annoying me when waiting for the bus and I dreaded him sitting next to me.  He wouldn't stop talking to me, even though I was clearly listening to my walkman.  As it was an open topped bus he said things like 'oh looks like the driver wasn't very careful when he went through a low tunnel eh?'  *rolls eyes*  I had to tell him I was trying to listen to mywalkman to get him to shut up!!

When we arrived in Dawlish I was surprised at the amount of people there.  It's not one of the biggest places on the south coast!!  I managed to find a good spot on the beach wall and the announcer told us it was due to start about quarter past one (or was it two??) so I rung mum.  Greg was there too so I managed to speak to him.  I tried to arrange for them to both come down on the Saturday.  Something to look forward too......

Eventually the show started, I was still amazed at the amount of people there.........

Look at them all, along the sea wall, on the beach, even along that jetty thing!!  Plus there were lots of boats out on the water too..........

You can just about make them out!!  It was insane........so what were we all waiting for I hear you ask!!

First up...............

The Tornado GR4  - Yep it was an air show!!

Well I'm gonna leave you here for now...............More photos in the next entry :-)

Take care everyone

Glad you had a good week, nice and relaxing.  It's good to just do nothing every once in a while!

You have now experienced the true highs of Dawlish. Such a magical place. In that old british sea-side experience way.

The spider will be gone by the end of the week. I hear he's off on holiday too.
