A Dedicated Entry

Hey all!!  Well I can't really be bothered to update my journal at the moment.  I have 43 emails to read and the board to keep updated and so I don't wanna bother with the journal as well coz I end up rushing around and I hate that!!  I'm doing an entry today though coz tomorrow is a special day and as I won't be home to do an entry I shall do it today instead..........................

You all know I'm a major Queen fan!!  (If you don't I'm very surprised!!) Thursday 24th November 2005 sees the 14th anniversary of the day Freddie Mercury left us all!!

This entry is dedicated to him - my shooting star!!

I would like to just write what I wrote a few years ago on this same particular day!!

Freddie    Queen fans will always feel the pain and sadness on this day   The day that the world lost one of the greatest showman!!    I miss you like crazy and I wish I could have had the chance to meet you and tell you how fantastic you were.  Most of all I would've loved just to give you a hug   Missing you now and always!!          I don't think I shall ever forget the day after he passed away.  The alarm had woken me for school as usual, mum had just brought up a cup of tea and the radio was on.  The news came on and they told me Freddie had passed away during the hours of Sunday evening.  It shocked me!!  I hadn't seen the papers the day before (or maybe I had I don't honestly remember!)  They played Bohemian Rhapsody (or these are the days).  What I can remember vividly was standing at the bus stop waiting for the bus to turn up, and all the time thinking of how he was gone and we were never gonna see him again!!  It got hold of me all day.  I remember being in a class with Trina and two mates and we started talking about it and how great the band was in general.  Thus began the fascination with the band.
Yes I was too late to see them live but like I said before I live with that and although I regret it, I am proud to be a fan!!  I am proud of all that I have achieved during the last 14 years of being a fan and I am glad I found them when I did!!  I have been to many places, met many people I probably wouldn't have done so if I'd just stuck to listening to music but not going to gigs etc........   I am also deeply grateful to the band and their music.  They have helped me through tough times and make me smile and dance and sing ;-)   Thank you Freddie   I hope where ever you are, you are having a ball darling xx  (I also hope my grandad, my cat and my hamster are keeping you company)!!   Your dedicated fan   Jenny xx

Freddie was a great man who touched millions of hearts in his life time, I too remember the day he left us. I remember Queen when they brought out Seven Seas of Rhye and realised I was listening to a band with a great future. They just had so much going for them, so sad that Freddie died. I can't share your enthusiasm for Queen and I am old enough to remember seeing them for the very first time - but I am glad you enjoy their music so much.

Wherever he is my dear, I'm sure he is glad to know that his fans love him still and that his memory lives on.  I'm not a super fan like you, I don't even know all of their songs, but even I know that Freddie was special.  Such talent, and charisma and what a showman!!

It`s unbelievable that Freddie`s been gone that long Jen. Before he announced he was ill, Jim saw him while at work at the airport, where Queen`s private jet could land at Heathrow without the band being bothered by the press etc.  He said he didn`t recognise Freddie first because he looked like an old man.  When he came home he told me sadly that he thought he had something seriously wrong with him, and of course, he was right.  The last time we had seen him was on stage at Milton Keynes Bowl and he was, as usual, strutting his stuff and entertaining the crowd in a way that only he knew how.  His passing was a great loss to the entertainment world, and for us oldies, the end of Queen.

A lovely entry, Jen - and I know Freddie will have seen it! Bohemian Rapsody is totally unique. It always takes me straight back to 1975, when I used to hear it on the radio constantly. Freddie was a passionate singer. My thoughts are with him - and you - on his anniversary.

Jen (((( hugs )))).  He was a truely maginificant man and performer.  It's always his last song I remember most where at the end the music stops and he say's 'I love you' Rache xx

Bohemian Rhapsody. Wow. There's some people that change the world with what they do. This was the song that defined new times. Changed perceptions

My  old friend J passed it over on the walkman, guess we were 14 too. Had never heard anything quite like it. And of course from that you just want to know more. The charisma, and the power, always came over in whatever they did.

JG was a dedicated Queen fan too. And I hope that he's up there too joining in with your Grandad, your cat and your hamster. Hey - that's going to be some backing group!
